  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil the chicken in chicken broth until fully cooked.
  2. Remove the chicken, shred the meat, and return it to the pot.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and butter until crumbly.
  4. Add egg and milk to the flour mixture to form a dough.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the boiling broth.
  6. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, sauté some onions and carrots before adding the chicken.
