  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized.
  3. Add turkey bacon to the pot and cook until crispy.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add thyme, salt, and pepper.
  7. Stir in cheeses until melted and smooth.
  8. Add macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine.
  9. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute beef broth with vegetable broth.
  • Feel free to add garlic for an additional layer of flavor.
