  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  2. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur.
  5. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee mixture and layer them in a baking dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat the layering with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of regular coffee.
  • Add chocolate shavings on top for extra indulgence.
