  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Aperol
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk and Aperol.
  6. Stir in the orange zest.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with a bit of Aperol.
